Seven marathons.
Seven continents.
One mission.

I'm running 183.4 miles around the world in seven days. But this journey is about more than the miles I run. It's about the people we can help carry forward.

Miles tell the truth.
Nobody should carry the hard miles alone.

02 · Why

Why these miles.

I spent my career in technology, where there's usually a shortcut if you look hard enough. Running doesn't have one. There is no prompt that makes mile twenty disappear. You do the work or you don't, and the miles tell the truth about which one it was.

This year I trained in Dallas, Japan, Bali and Switzerland. The runs I remember aren't the fast ones. They're the ones where people showed up.

Seven marathons in one week is something I chose. It's hard, and it ends when the week ends. A lot of veterans and military families carry things that are much heavier, that they didn't choose, and that don't stop at a finish line. I'm not comparing the two. I'm saying the lesson I keep learning is the same one: hard miles get lighter when people show up.

So I'm pointing this week, and the attention it gets, at two organizations that show up for veterans and their families. Run with me. Walk with me. Or give.

Some miles are physical. Others are the weight people carry long after the journey ends. Nobody should have to carry those miles alone.

            Bring your company.

Sponsors, matching companies, running clubs and community groups. Corporate support for the campaign is kept separate from charitable gifts, which always go to the joint fundraiser.

            • Become a partner

Support the campaign itself: race-week coverage, the community challenge, the Finish Line report. Partners are named only after there's a signed agreement, and they don't decide where gifts go.

            • Match donations

Pledge to match what your people give, up to a cap you set. The match goes straight to the same joint fundraiser, not through me. Many employers already match personal gifts to 501(c)(3) organizations, so check with HR too.

            • Organize a team

Enter your office, club or crew. Everyone signs up with the same team name and gets a bib. The team shows up on the board if its members opt in.

              Start a team
            • Support a community challenge

Running clubs, schools and community groups can host their own 7 for 7 during race week. I'll help with the kit: bibs, story cards and the route.

Get the miles in your inbox.

A few emails before the race. Short ones during it. Pick what you want, including a note the day donations open.

            What should I send?

These are optional marketing emails, each one separate. Unsubscribe from any of them any time. Messages about your own bib and mileage log are sent whether or not you tick anything here. Your email isn't shared with the organizations or sponsors unless you ask.

            13 · Questions

The fine print, in plain words.

            Why are you doing this?

Because the miles taught me something I want to pass on: hard miles get lighter when people show up. I'm already running seven marathons in one week. Pointing that week at veterans and military families, and inviting you to move with me, is the most useful thing I can do with it.

What is the Great World Race?

Seven marathons on seven continents in one week, Nov 15 to 21, 2026: Antarctica, Cape Town, Perth, Singapore, Algarve, Cartagena and Miami. 183.4 miles, with most of the recovery happening on planes. More on the race

            Who benefits?

Two organizations: Veterans Empowerment Organization (VEO) in Atlanta, which helps veterans with housing, wellness and job readiness, and Vigilant Torch Foundation, which supports members of a select Special Operations community and their families. They run the programs. I run the miles.

            Can I participate without running?

Yes. Walk, roll, push a stroller, use a treadmill. Pick Your Way and count minutes instead of miles if that works better for your body. The point is to show up, not to go fast.

            How does fundraising work?

There's one fundraiser: a joint GoFundMe Pro fundraiser benefiting both organizations. You can give once or, if it's switched on, monthly. Once it opens, your bib page also explains how to share it with your people. The donation link isn't live yet. Leave your email in Stay In and you'll hear the day it opens.

            Where do donations go?

To that one joint fundraiser on GoFundMe Pro, which benefits both Veterans Empowerment Organization and Vigilant Torch Foundation. I never hold donations. Both organizations are registered 501(c)(3) nonprofits and GoFundMe Pro sends your receipt; whether a gift is deductible depends on your situation, so check with a tax professional.

Can I join from any country?

Yes. The 7 for 7 works anywhere. Miles and minutes both count, and the dates are Nov 15 to 21 in your own time zone.

            Is Strava required?

No. You log your miles right here. No app or account is needed. If app syncing ever gets added, it will be optional and only with your permission.

            How are community miles recorded?

You log them on this page after you sign up, from the same device. They're self-reported, and a person reviews them before they count toward the totals. Anything that looks off gets held for a closer look, not deleted.

How are donations and progress verified?

Donation totals come only from the fundraiser's GoFundMe Pro reports, with the date they were pulled. My stage times go up only after they're confirmed by the race. Community miles are labeled self-reported and are reviewed first. If something can't be checked, it doesn't go up.

            Can companies match donations?

Yes. A company can pledge to match its people's gifts, up to a cap it sets, and the match goes to the same joint fundraiser. Many employers also match personal gifts on their own, so ask your HR team. Set up a match

            How can I watch?

Coverage plans are still being finalized, and I won't promise a stream until there is one. The stage tracker on this page updates through the week. Sign up for livestream reminders and you'll hear if there's something to watch.

            What happens to my information?

Your email is used for your bib and mileage log. It goes on an email list only for the boxes you tick. Your name appears publicly only if you opt in, and places are shown only as totals. Ask and I'll remove any of it. Analytics on this page never include your name or email.

Is there merch or a prize?

No. You get a digital bib and a story card. If anything else is ever added, the rules will be posted on this page first.

            Challenge terms

The 7 for 7 is a personal, self-paced activity. You choose where, when and how you move, and you take part at your own risk. Check with a doctor if you're unsure about exercise. Don't log miles you didn't do. Reasons posted to the Supporter Wall are moderated and can be removed at any time, including at your request. There's no entry fee, and no purchase or donation is required to take part.
